Float glass
float glass |
Flat glass is currently manufactured using the technique referred to as "floating". The glass is produced through the melting of a mixture of mineral materials in a "float" furnace. The particularity of this process is to pour the molten glass onto a surface that is perfectly flat and free of defects: a bath of molten tin. The glass thus produced is referred to as "annealed", and has practically no internal tension.

Monolithic glass panes that are annealed and comply with standard EN 572 related to flat glass can be used.
